Good Water Sensor for Vista 20P?

The 5821 is a wireless temperature sensor that can be combined with an external probe (470BP) for flood detection. So you can effectively get 2 sensors out of one (for example, you could monitor a basement to determine if the temp gets below 45 degrees and monitor for leaks in the basement with this single setup).

It can also be combined with a remote temperature probe (T280R) for fridge or freezer monitoring, which is how I'm using it (kids keep leaving the fridge door slightly ajar at night).

I think you have to choose between the fridge/freezer or flood probe - but either one works with the 5821s built-in ambient temperature sensor.

FYI, you typically have to buy the 5821 and the 470BP / T280R separately (I only mention this because the listings for the 5821 on many sites can be interpreted as including the flood or fridge probe, which is kinda misleading).

Are You in Danger from Thieves who Bump Locks?

You may have heard recently about a technique for opening door locks by simply striking a blank key into your lock with a heavy object. There are videos showing people opening locks as easily as if they had your key!

However, there is little to worry about - the average criminal is not going to take the time or make the noise to bump locks. They are more concerned about how quick they can open the door or window, grab something of value and be gone.

They need special keys for each type of lock and for each keyway to be able to bump a lock, and this is yet more specialized equipment that they will not bother to obtain.

As a homeowner, you need to worry more about doing security checks. Add outside lights, clear away large bushes that block the view of windows, make the front door very strong and secure, install an alarm system, hide valuables or get a safe.

And most importantly, lock doors and windows. 25% of all break-ins and car theft is via unlocked access or keys left available.

New Elkguard Wireless Security is Revolutionary

Hey, if you're a boat owner, or apartment dweller, or have new buildings under construction, then the new Elkguard system will really blow your mind. There's never been anything like it before.

Check this out, it runs on batteries that run for at least three months, everything is wireless, including alarm sirens, keyfobs, onboard motion detection, and GSM.

My best source for these is Watchdog Security Store, they have great support, and even better prices.

Ask for Steve, he's guru with all the info.
